A dark, malty brown ale with caramel and chocolate notes that is nicely balanced. Medium and dark crystal paired with chocolate and roasted barley and some wheat for head retention. Willamette for bittering and flavoring hops. Use Wyeast British, 1098 for more of an English flavor profile.

Complete instructions are included with the beer kit. Our instructions include target gravity levels, hop addition times, suggested and required equipment lists, and all the important brewing steps! If you need any help, you can just call us!

All of our extract kits come with malt extract, hops, specialty grains (pre-crushed), grain bag, instructions, and yield 5 gallons of delicious homebrew. Yeast is not included but we've provided a selection of recommended yeast (liquid and dry) that you can add to your order in the drop downs above. Clarifying agents (i.e. Irish moss) and priming sugar can be purchased separately.

Probably the first kit I brewed from GreatFermentations that wasn't amazing. The beer tastes OK but I seem to be the only person who likes it. Brewed, hit all the gravities, the yeast finished very good. No off flavors. Smelled great the whole time brewing. Aged Three weeks in secondary. That said, this wont be the most popular brown ale you ever made. The Brewers Best Imperial Nut Brown and the Sweet Georgia Brown are recommended greatly over this recipe.
