What better way to start your morning than with a nice cup of coffee. We took a time tested porter and paired it with Bjava Guatemalan Rio Azul coffee.

  • Q and A

Using a time tested porter recipe, we decided to pair it with Bjava Guatemalan Rio Azul coffee. Rich chocolate and caramel flavors are accentuated by 'dry coffeeing' in the secondary fermenter. Nothing like a good 'ol cup of coffee in the morning! We like to use Wyeast Scottish Ale yeast 1728 to provide some residual sweetness.

This is a great porter recipe! When you add the coffee it takes it to another level. I was sad when the tap ran dry on this one. It gets better with age so set some aside for a few months for a really pleasant surprise.

Good coffee infused beer. Easy to brew and you can control how intense of a coffee flavor the brew has.

If you like dark beer and black coffee, this beer if for you. This kit allows you to control a stronger or lighter coffee flavor. I went for very strong, and it is delicious. The grains/ malt give the porter a deep rich and smooth flavor that for a dark beer is surprisingly drinkable for several mugs in a setting.
