  • Q and A

Denny's Favorite 50 is a unique yeast in that it produces malt-forward beers without making them too sweet or come off as under-attenuated. While balance is often towards malt, adequate hopping rates will ensure hops will not only come through, but fruit and citrus notes will shine. This yeast can be used for nearly any ale, with a style range that spans from American IPAs to Sweet Stouts. This yeast produces excellent beers, yet is often overlooked in place of more common, neutral American yeast strains. However, a good temperature range, decent attenuation, and malty profile qualities make this a yeast you may want to check out!

Beer Style: American Amber Ale, American Brown Ale, American IPA, American Pale Ale, American Stout, Braggot, Brown Porter, Christmas/Winter Specialty Spiced Beer, Classic Rauchbier, Cream Ale, Fruit Beer, Imperial IPA, Irish Red Ale, Other Smoked Beer, Russian Imperial Stout, Spice, Herb, or Vegetable Beer, Strong Scotch Ale, Wood-Aged Beer.

Warm Weather Shipping Notice

During the hot summer months we include complimentary ice packs with ALL liquid yeast orders, but cannot guarantee that the ice packs will stay cold during transit, and thus the yeast can potentially be exposed to hot temperatures. We highly recommend ordering dry yeast during the summer months or if you are ordering from a warmer climate.
