FastFerment 7.9G

I have been all grain brewing for 15 years. I started with the typical glass carboy 5 gallon vessel. 6 years ago I graduated to a Big Mouth fermenter and thought that was heaven. Now I have just fermented my first beer in the FastFerment 7.9 which is heaven!! I know that this is the last fermenter that I will ever have. This product allows me to collect trub in the collection vessel and get rid of it by just closing a valve. GREAT! The only thing that I have to get used to is the balance of a conical fermenter. The wire stand really helped me when moving the fermenter around full. I am not sure if I want to bottle directly from FastFerment tank because I have limited space in my fermentation chamber? To be decided?
Working Great

I have four and they save me hours of time in labor and fermentation time. They shave at least a week of fermentation time, with higher incubation temperature. I added oak directly to the batch like you would a secondary fermenter. The oak got caught behind the ball valve (union valve) stopping me from completely closing the valve. The Fastbrew Crew replaced it free of charge, which speaks to their product commitment. If you're adding solid flavoring agents I suggest you use a strainer ball or the like.

Love this product but the stand is not tall enough. -when the siphoning tube is connected it is too close to the ground it bends and does not allow proper flow. -when siphoning it sits so low you can't keg or bottle. I'm building a secondary stand. To raise this stand. Stand shi I ld be made taller. I still love the fastfermenter its a great inexpensive tool!

What a great concept but a very bad execution. Product quality is very low. The lid barely would screw down the threads because of the molding ridges. After a half an hour of cleaning off bits of plastic I finally got the lid to bottom out. After my first brew I had to transfer my beer to a carboy because the lid would not seal. The rim of the fermenter was nowhere close to flat. I spent another hour sanding down the rim so the lid would seal. I will need to buy a thicker gasket to get a tight seal. Finally after a lot of fuss and more money I have a great fermenter. I would suggest to FastFerment that they increase the quality of their next batch of fermenters and offer some kind of fix to those who have already purchased one. They might just have a lot more happy customers.
