46th Street Station is the name of the spot off 46th Street in Indianapolis where Loom, the production facility for Black Circle Brewing, is located (along with one of our favorite local coffee shops, GoldLeaf Savory & Sweet!) We thought that would be the perfect name for the newest beer in our Local Series line of beer kits! We brewed this beer with Terra, brewmaster at Black Circle Brewing, to do something a little different, as well as showcase some amazing local ingredients! Using Sugar Creek Pilsner malt and Stjordal smoked malt, a Norweigan-style malt produced using traditional methods in the Sainnhus at Sugar Creek Malting Co. Utilizing Chinook and Michigan Copper hops from Crazy Horse Hops, this beer is sure to be a unique beer experience! We recommend an Omega Yeast kveik strain such as Hornindal or Voss, as Omega Yeast Labs is just up the road in Chicago, and these are traditional yeast strains for the style which have a wide fermentation temperature range!
