The adapter lid kit is the core of the BrewEasy Kettle-RIMS system and comes with all the necessary plumbing, AutoSparge, and BoilerMaker lid mount needed for the BrewEasy.

Important Product Selection Info!
See the chart below for the brew pot sizes required for each BrewEasy setup. The adapter lid kits are also dependent on the model of pots you have. If you have all G1 pots, choose the G1 adapter kits. All G2 pots, then choose the G2 adapter kit. If you are mixing models, choose the adapter kit that corresponds with your top pot (mash tun). So if you want to do a 5 gallon system and already own a G1 10 gallon pot, and want to buy a 7.5 gallon G2 pot, you will also want to choose the G2 adapter kit. Head exploding yet?

NOTE: The kit cannot be used with other BoilerMaker combinations or non-BoilerMaker brew pots.

***Additional Equipment Required***All you need in addition to this adapter kit is a 13/16" to 7/8" diameter hole drilled in the mash tun for the included AutoSparge, a heat source for the bottom boil kettle, and a single brew pump. Head over to our Brew Pumps page to see what we have, or you could pick up the Blichmann Tower of Power LTE stand with the March 815 pump and you'd be on your way to the ultimate setup. Check out the product documentation tab for more info on the BrewEasy setup.

Can I brew smaller batches on a BrewEasy system designed for larger batches (i.e. a 5 gallon batch on the 10 gallon system)?
The short answer is yes, you can definitely do this, but there are some caveats to note and special steps will need to be taken. In general, the suggestion is to purchase the system that fits the batch size you plan to brew the most. Here are some tips for brewing smaller batches on each of the BrewEasy systems:

Smaller than 5 gallons in 5 gallon BrewEasy
It is not recommended to brew smaller than a 4 gallon finished batch size in the 5 gallon BrewEasy.

5 gallon batch in 10 gallon BrewEasy
When brewing smaller batches in the larger system you will encounter a thinner mash bed, which can lead to cloudier wort. Blichmann recommends at least 10 pounds of grain to avoid an overly thin mash bed. It is highly recommend to purchase the 9 in. AutoSparge float rod (SKU BE-000259-00), to accommodate the smaller mash. When brewing with gas, caramelization can be an issue with low volumes in the bottom kettle of the BrewEasy. This is especially problematic with the electric BrewEasy as the BoilCoil must remain fully submerged during operation. You should always maintain a minimum volume of 5 gallons in the bottom kettle at all times. It is important to set the AutoSparge float to maintain this minimum volume.

10 gallon batch in 20 gallon BrewEasy
When brewing smaller batches in the larger system you will encounter a thinner mash bed, which can lead to cloudier wort. We recommend at least 20 pounds of grain to avoid an overly thin mash bed. We highly recommend purchasing the 12 in. AutoSparge float rod (SKU BE-000260-00) to accommodate the smaller mash. When brewing with gas, caramelization can be an issue with low volumes in the bottom kettle of the BrewEasy. This is especially problematic with the electric BrewEasy as the BoilCoil must remain fully submerged during operation. You should always maintain a minimum volume of 7 gallons in the bottom kettle at all times. It is important to set the AutoSparge float to maintain this minimum volume.

Great system!
After looking at many options (from build-our-own to BrewMagic), we decided to go with a compact Blichmann setup. It looked like it would fit our desire to automate without taking over the entire garage. We have achieved that goal and more. The entire setup was straightforward, I did a test-brew with water and then dove right in for my first brew (Saison). Works like a champ, many of my friends are insanely jealous. Including those that have existing systems. The portability is also nice, I can throw it in the back of our SUV and drive it to a brew-day with ease. I can highly recommend the system, we added on the Tower of Power for automation, which I think should be a requirement.

BrewEasy Adapter
Got the 7 gallon setup. GF made it easy to purchase what I needed and assembly easy. First brew will need to wait till spring, too cold in garage.
