Provides a distinct citrusy grapefruit flavor and aroma which can be used as both a bittering and an aroma hop. Good for dry hopping as well. The quintessential American hop. Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is a showcase for this hop. Centennial and Columbus have a similar aroma/flavor, but are considerably more bitter.

The Quintessential American hop!
Cascade, in my humble opinion, is the quintessential American hop. In addition to being the representative hop of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, the orange-grapefruit brightness of Cascade never gets old. I use these in a number of American ale styles, most notably in my pale ales and IPAs. Citrusy and clean, I feel you can never go wrong with Cascade!
