Cabernet Franc is a lighter red grape in comparison to Cabernet Sauvignon. It is often grown and used as a blending grape with other varietals to help balance the acid content of the finished product and lend smoothness and finesse to a Bordeaux wine. That being said, it can be turned into an excellent wine by itself, and because these juices have been acid and pH adjusted, all that is left for you to do is ferment it out! Cabernet Franc exhibits flavors of pepper, raspberry, tobacco, vanilla and currant. Definitely a wonderful varietal with a lot of potential!
