Chardonnay grapes originated in the Saone-et-Loire region of France, and take their name from the village of Chardonnay. These famous wine grapes were found to be a natural cross between Pinot and Gouais Blanc grapes. Long used in winemaking, they were first mentioned historically in the late 17th century, where they were found to make the best wine. That longstanding tradition is continued in the modern day, as Chardonnay are grown throughout the country. This wine is both simple and regal, with exquisite texture and a steely minerality that lends itself to a creamy mouthfeel. An unoaked Chardonnay, this wine has wonderful hints of citrus, honey and melon on the palate, and finishes with a crisp flavor of green apple. This wine pairs well with chicken in cream sauce, pasta primavera, Brie and charcuterie. Don't miss your chance to make this incredible French wine!
