We took the quintessential West Coast IPA and Thiolized® it with Phantasm Thiol Powder and Omega's Star Party yeast. A new juicy spin on a beloved style, Star Partier will give you aromatics and flavors that include dank pink guava, passion fruit, and citrus zest!
Using one of our tried and true West Coast IPA recipes, we added an ounce of Cascade hops that go in with the grains and help to boost thiols in the beer. We then switch to nothing but Talus hops for the boil, throw in Phantasm Thiol Powder during the whirlpool, and finish things off with Star Party yeast. This mix really takes thiol production through the roof!
WTF are Thiols?
Thiols are compounds found abundantly in malt and hops, that give off huge tropical notes of grapefruit, passion fruit, and guava. The problem is that these thiols are locked away; inaccessible to homebrewers using traditional ingredients. Now, thanks to science and the geniuses at Omega Yeast, those huge tropical notes can now burst forward in your homebrew creations! Using a mix of malt, certain hop varieties, Phantasm crushed grape powder, and Thiolized® yeast from Omega, you can amp up the juiciness of just about any beer you can think of!
