Pale ale malt from Germany's largest maltster! Avangard malts are known for their quality and consistency. While pale ale malts are often associated with English maltsters, Avangard certainly makes a fine pale ale malt to be used as a base malt in a range of beer styles! This malt can make excellent British-style bitters, pale ales and IPAs, but also does well in American and Belgian beers where a slightly richer and darker base malt would be used. As this is a pale ale malt, it is kilned a touch darker than either pilsner malts or standard American 2-row base malts, and has a Lovibond rating around 3L. This results in a still-light, yet rich and delicious malt with a million uses! At a great price, this is a wonderful base malt that we suggest trying on for size!
