Smoked (rauch) malt from Best Malz is a malt that can either be used to add smoked character to beers, increase perception of spirit notes in spirit barrel and wood aged beers, or used as a base for traditional German Rauchbiers. It has a smokiness remisicent of liquid smoke or smoked meats. In addition to beers, it can also be used for distillates such as whiskey, as it has high enzymatic activity. The amount of beech wood or whiskey character increases with increased rate of use. Smooth and smokey, try Best Malz smoked malt the next time you want some true smoked character!
