Grenache is one of the most widely-grown red wine grape varieties in the world, and is used in a number of high-quality (and highly priced) wines! Known for its fruit and spice flavors, it produces a juice with a lot of sugars that can often be fermented into high alcohol wine. Its flavors are often associated with red berries such as strawberry, black cherry and raspberry, as well as having cinnamon, anise, tobacco and citrus wine qualities. It tends to make a medium-red wine with medium body that is quite delicious and exotic!
